Supporting Ethnic Men to Create Lasting Change - Te Huringa ō Te Ao
Restoring family wellbeing through sustainable, culturally grounded change
Shama’s Te Huringa o Te Ao service is for ethnic men who want to change their behaviour and improve their relationships with their partners and families. We work with men who are ready to take responsibility for healing and growth. Rooted in cultural safety, family wellbeing, and accountability, this service supports ethnic men to build healthier relationships and break cycles of violence.
We provide tailored, free, and accessible support for men over 18—offering one-on-one guidance, culturally responsive education, emotional regulation strategies, and practical assistance such as interpreters and transport. With a strong focus on reconnection—with self, family, and community—our service empowers men to embrace safe and healthy masculinity.
Our team understands the challenges that come with settling in a new country, and we work alongside other services and community groups to make sure each man and his family get the support they need.
Together, we’re creating safe, respectful families and enabling men to become part of the solution.
