On the 24th of July, Shama and Hon. Jenny Salesa co-hosted the Connections Hui at Grand Hall of Parliament House. This was the first time that ethnic therapists and community workers from around New Zealand had the opportunity to come together to meet and connect. More than 90 people came to the hui to talk about how a response service for ethnic survivors of sexual violence should look like and how to prevent sexual violence amongst the diversity of our communities.
Shama is currently developing this national service and it will launch before the end of the year.
