Entrepreneur Programme
The Entrepreneur Programme supports ethnic women to explore and develop small food-based business ideas in a culturally safe and supportive environment. It is designed for women who want to build confidence, learn practical skills, and explore income-generating opportunities at their own pace.
The programme brings women together to learn, share, and grow. It focuses on building leadership, confidence, and connection, while supporting participants to understand how business works in Aotearoa New Zealand — including managing finances, keeping records, meeting food safety requirements, and developing marketing approaches. Support is tailored, with language and cultural support available throughout the programme.
Participants are supported to develop a realistic and personalised business plan that reflects their strengths, interests, and life circumstances. The programme also includes mentoring, guest speakers with lived experience, and opportunities to safely test ideas in small ways.
For many women, especially those who have experienced violence, isolation, or other challenges, building financial independence can be an important step toward wellbeing and safety. The programme recognises this and provides encouragement, practical support, and a strong sense of community.
The Entrepreneur Programme runs over 12 weeks and is currently offered in Hamilton and Tauranga.
Cost: Free.
