Casual School Holiday Programme Supervisor

Shama, Ethnic Women’s Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced person to support the delivery of our School Holiday Programmes in Hamilton.

This is a casual position, primarily for the upcoming holiday programme from 13–17 July 2026, with the possibility of ongoing work in future holiday programmes.

The pay rate for this role is $31.5 per hour, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed over the programme week.

The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the programme, supporting and supervising staff and volunteers, and facilitating a variety of sporting, creative, cultural, and recreational activities for children aged 5–13 years in a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.

Skills and experience required:

• Right to work in New Zealand
• Empathy for children, their development, and their cultural backgrounds
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
• Full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence
• Staff leadership and supervision skills
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently across diverse cultures and age groups
• Ability to use initiative and organise activities and games
• Reliable, responsible, and honest
• Experience working with children or in holiday programmes preferred
