Programmes

We deliver a range of programmes that support ethnic women, children, young people, families, and communities to build wellbeing, confidence, and safety. Our programmes respond to everyday needs, strengthen connection and belonging, and support prevention and response to family and sexual violence. They are delivered locally in Hamilton and Tauranga, with several programmes offered nationally. We also deliver cultural safety training for agencies and social services working with ethnic clients.

Life Skills Classes Life Skills Classes help ethnic women build confidence and practical skills through sewing, cooking, English, and computer support. Classes are friendly, hands-on, and support connection and wellbeing. Available in Tauranga and Hamilton (programmes vary by location). Cost: $5 per term.

SuperSHEroA fun, free wellbeing and empowerment programme for ethnic women. SuperSHEro runs interactive Saturday workshops that build confidence, practical skills, and connection in a culturally safe space. Available in Tauranga and Hamilton.

Entrepreneur Programme – A programme supporting ethnic women to explore food-based business ideas. Participants build confidence, learn practical business skills, and develop a simple, personalised business plan in a culturally safe and supportive environment. Available in Hamilton and Tauranga.

Youth ExploreA youth programme supporting ethnic young people to build confidence, life skills, and connection. Through camps, workshops, community activities, and social events, young people grow, learn, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. Available in Hamilton

Children’s Holiday ProgrammeA fun and affordable holiday programme for children aged 5–13. Children enjoy games, crafts, sports, and outings in a safe, multicultural environment. Ideal for families needing school holiday support. OSCAR approved, with WINZ subsidies available. Available in Hamilton

Violence Prevention Community-led work supporting ethnic communities across Aotearoa to prevent family and sexual violence. We provide training, mentoring, funding, and connection to help communities create culturally relevant initiatives that promote healthy relationships, consent, bystander action, and child safety. Available nationally

Cross-Cultural Parenting – Workshops supporting parents new to Aotearoa to explore positive parenting within their cultural values, while understanding New Zealand laws and children’s rights. The programme builds confidence, shares practical parenting strategies, and can be delivered nationwide for community groups on request. Available nationally

Healthy Relationships – Connections101 – A 10-session programme supporting ethnic young people to build healthy relationships with peers, family, and community. Connections101 takes a culturally grounded, strengths-based approach to communication, identity, belonging, and wellbeing. Delivered in Tauranga and Hamilton.

Cultural Safety TrainingTraining that helps organisations and individuals work more respectfully and effectively with ethnic communities by building understanding of culture, bias, power, and inclusive practice. Participants gain practical tools to create safer, more culturally responsive services and spaces. Available nationally

Connections! Hui National hui bringing together ethnic community leaders and workers to share learning, strengthen connections, and collaborate on prevention and responses to family and sexual violence. The Hui creates space for reflection, leadership, and collective solutions grounded in ethnic community experience.
