Vacancy – Healthy Relationships Programme Developer

175 hours total over 5 months ($50 to $75 p/h range)

Shama, Ethnic Women’s Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic Developer for the development of a Healthy Relationships Programme for ethnic young people. You will work with the Programme Coordinator to achieve the development of this programme. This will include developing the content, sourcing programme material, writing and testing of the programme.

Alongside the Co-ordinator, the Writer will ensure that the programme is developed collaboratively and, once written, is tested with community members. This is likely to involve being part of facilitation of the early material.

This healthy relationships programme for ethnic young people will include family
relationships, peer group relationships, community belongings of multiple kinds (faith, culture, sexuality, gender, disability) and romantic relationships.

The key skills required for this role are:

  • Existing demonstrable knowledge of healthy relationships programming and content
  • Ability to design and adapt materials for use in this context
  • Facilitation experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes
  • Understanding the experience of ethnic people from a range of backgrounds living in New Zealand.
  • Proven experience of educational programme writing and/or development.
  • High standard of verbal and written communications ability, including the ability to present information to groups of people
  • Ability to speak 1 or 2 ethnic languages will be an advantage
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Clean NZ Police checks
